The reload definitions command gets injected twice (sometimes). I need to figure out if this is due to a thread from previous instance not getting killed or the event actually getting triggered twice.

this turned out to be an event getting triggered twice, because we watch the file and its parent directory. the latter is needed due to diverging editor behaviour when saving, but it turns out that the former isnt. we can skip watching the file directly and watch parent folder only. this generates only one event reliably. handled in commit 28ee90aeea
